As of 12:00 on 16 October, 41 A-share electronics companies, by Shenwan industry classification, had disclosed earnings forecasts for the first three quarters of 2026, according to preliminary iFinD statistics. Of these, 24 forecast sharp increases, 6 slight increases and 6 a return to profit. Together the 36 companies make up 87.80% of those that had disclosed. 36Kr and Jiemian published the figures on 19 October, citing Economic Reference Daily. [ 1 , 2 ]
Jiemian said that among the 36 companies, wording such as rapid AI industry development, data center construction demand and rising storage demand appeared in most of the explanations for the change in results. Donghai Securities said in a research report that AI-driven demand remains strong and that supply-side capacity buildout is slow, so high prosperity may continue. It said that, with demand strong and prices high, third-quarter results are likely to keep improving. [ 2 ]
On 20 October, CLS, Jiemian and 36Kr carried a Shanghai Securities News report on the semiconductor sector. From disclosed third-quarter reports and nine-month forecasts, it said, semiconductor firms broadly forecast higher results, showing continued high prosperity. Memory chip companies show astonishing profitability, while PCB has become the sector with the most certain results. [ 3 , 4 , 5 ]
Market participants said AI demand should keep the global semiconductor industry at high prosperity in 2027. They said the market correction has lowered valuations and eased crowding in the technology sector, so sectors with solid prosperity, and companies whose profitability is recovering, may regain the favour of the market and investors. [ 3 , 4 , 5 ]
