In short

Baemin's operator said on October 18 that it had connected the delivery app with point-of-sale systems used by about 5,000 small and medium-sized markets across South Korea. The arrangement with POS provider Tugaedeoseu (투게더스) enables stores to process rapid-delivery sales through their existing systems, the companies said. Newsis and other business outlets reported that the agreement was signed on October 16. [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 ]

The integration brings Baemin order receipt, product registration, inventory management and payment processing into the markets' existing POS workflow. Previously, participating stores needed separate software to handle Baemin rapid-delivery orders and had to enter app sales into their inventory systems separately. Newsis reported that this could create stock discrepancies or delays in updating information. The operator expects the connection to reduce that administrative burden and improve processing speed and inventory accuracy. [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 ]

The first participating brand was Tomato Sikjajae Mateu (토마토식자재마트), which joined earlier in October, the business outlets reported. Further store onboarding is planned from next month. The partnership gives markets using the POS provider a way to use Baemin's delivery infrastructure without building a separate system. Yonhap described these neighbourhood and food-supply markets as serving both ordinary consumers and local small businesses in communities around the country. [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 ]

The operator said it has been expanding rapid-delivery services through its own Baemin B Mart offering and through the app's grocery and shopping section. About 24,000 convenience stores, markets and other participating businesses are listed in that section, according to Newsis, Maeil Business and Yonhap. Yonhap reported the operator's description of rapid delivery as bringing ordered goods within an hour. The company said it expected the partnership to help smaller market owners operate more conveniently and increase sales through rapid delivery. [ 2 , 3 , 4 ]

Why it matters

The companies say the connection removes the need for separate order software and manual re-entry of app sales into inventory records. Additional stores are due to join from next month, following a first participating brand earlier in October.
